TRAINING OF TRAINERS WORKSHOP IN RIVERS STATE

The Training of Trainers workshop is a fundamental part of the Strengthening Youth Participation Against Corruption

(Y-PAC project). As part of Youth Alive Foundation mandate to train her partners like CSOs, Student leaders and NYSC

Members a 5 day training was carried out in Rivers State.

The training cut across several subject areas. They were primarily designed to equip youth as stakeholders of the

(Y-PAC) project with key knowledge and skills that will enable them build on their own anti-corruption frameworks

and adapt it to their respective communities. The training covered key components of the Y-PAC project which include:·         Leadership,
·         Anticorruption Advocacy,
·         Corruption in Nigeria,
·         Gender/Disability Inclusion,
·         Community Entry,
·         Monitoring and Evaluation,
·         Social Behavior Change & Communication (SBCC) and
·         Overview of the ACORN Program and the Y-PAC Project.

The training which began on 29th of October lasted till the 3rd of November as it sought to cover the intervention

criteria of Strengthening CSOs, Youth Groups/Networks to effectively engage constituencies in the fight against

corruption. The later the objectives was to trickle down the training by ensuring that those trained carry out step

down training afterward. The training was intensive and the youth groups and corps members in attendance

pledged their allegiance and active participation in the fight against corruption by applying the skills gained

during this training to their various communities.
