
The state led action with the backing of 53 Civil society organizations calling on the Government and legislators of Akwa Ibom State to enact a law for a sustainable youth development plan geared towards addressing unemployment is gradually coming to light as the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt.Hon. Onofiok Luke has slated Wednesday 19th September, 2018 for the public hearing of the #AKYDFBILL
The bill seeks provide funds for youth empowerment initiatives using a robust strategic plan that adresses 7 pivotal areas;
1. Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Development
2. Labour Market Research/Impact Evaluation
3. Transition to Work Programs
4. Technical and Vocational Education Training
5. Attitudinal Social Re-orientation Programs
6. Economic Diversification of Non-Oil Sector (Technological Innovation and Agriculture)
7. Funding Youth Cooperative
