
As YAF strengthens her engagement on the Y-PAC intervention focused on Sexual and Gender Based Violence SGBV the SHE campaign (Sexual Harassment in Higher Education) has proven to be a vital too in this regard. Today YAF just concluded the training of 30 Enumerators for the SHE survey. The training was done at the conference hall of YAF Northern partner- CAJA (Centre for Awareness on Justice and Accountability) The trainees were drawn from students of various Institutions namely: Kano Polytechnic, Bayero University, F.C.E, Northwest University and Saadatu Rimi College of Education. At about 9:30am a general overview was presented on the title: The Overview of SHE campaign, SHE Survey Methodology and the DOs and Don’t of the survey. Bright who facilitated the training informed the students on the importance of the SHE campaign and YAFs goal to make a positive and significant change in bringing a reduction or possibly an end to the menace of Sexual Harassment in Higher Education. The survey she mentioned will serve as a baseline for the project. At the end of the training, a Review of the Survey Questionnaire was carried out with a role play. The students were equipped with all the information. In return, the students expressed their willing to conduct the Survey accordingly.Youth all over the world deserve a fair playing ground, to be nurtured and not molested. As part of the several programming strategies that speaks to the vision of YAF, we look forward to creating an enabling society for youths and all. A Country where Sexual and Gender Based violence will be laid low and the fundamental human right of all citizen upheld for a nationwide development. This is what we stand for.
