Youth Alive Foundation is a non-governmental organization that seeks to play a part in facilitating a just, equitable and progressive society in which young people can have access to social and economic opportunities and protect their basic human and political rights. Due to expanding work scope and increased project activities, we now have vacancies for the following positions.

1.   HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

Location: Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria

Person Specification


  1.       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present information in a manner appropriate to the audience, draft    correspondence and email responses;
  2.       Planning and control;
  3.       Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility;
  4.       Attention to detail;
  5.       Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet and experience of inhouse databases together with use of web-based    information systems;
  6.       Excellent organizational skills;
  7.       Adaptable and flexible in approach to work;
  8.       Ability to analyze and use data and management information;
  9.       Good influencing skills and ability to foster and maintain successful working relationships with colleagues and contacts.
  10.       Proactive and results orientated
  11.       Tactful, approachable, discreet and diplomatic
  12.       Experience in human resource management; ·
  13.       Experience in managing performance reviews;
  14.       Experience in administrative duties, with a good range of relevant skills.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Performance management – deliver performance management programs that drive a high performance culture.
  2. Recruitment and selection – direct and manage the recruitment and selection process of staff and volunteers.
  3. Learning and development – implement and monitor effectiveness of training programs for staff and volunteers.
  4. Human resources policy – develop, implement and maintain human resources policies across the organization, including training programs to educate and promote awareness of regulatory compliance.
  5. Reporting and management of human resources metrics – produce reports on key metrics, including remuneration and benefits, absenteeism and turnover.
  6. Overall responsibility for registering annual leave, sick leave, compassionate leave, etc in the staff personal files
  7. Overall responsibility for preparing offer of appointments, contracts, payroll, salary payments and receipts
  8. Responsible for monitoring and follow-up of Human Resource related issues among staff and volunteers.

Education

Degree or Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or Business Administration or any social related courses.

Knowledge and experience

Minimum of 1 year experience in HR or administration.

Skills

  1. Competent in use of Microsoft applications especially Excel and Word
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  3. Good writing skills
  4. Very keen in details
  5. Fluency in written English
  6. Ability to work independently
